Sycamore Vet is available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening. If you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment, our veterinarians and staff will make every effort to accommodate you and your pet in a timely manner.
We love seeing you and your pet for their annual checkup. Preventive health care is always a better situation than treating an issue once it has progressed to an advanced stage. We suggest a physical exam once a year for adult cats and dogs and every six months for senior pets. During these exams, we’ll take the time to listen to any concerns you may have about your dog or cat, then we’ll give them a gentle yet thorough nose-to-tail inspection. We’ll examine their eyes and ears, listen to their heart and lungs, and check their oral health, and everything else from top to bottom. We will also discuss nutrition & any changes in behavior that may clue us in on certain health conditions. Bloodwork may be recommended to check the function of kidney, liver, and other internal structures gives us the best picture into our patients overall health.
Your pet’s oral health is an often overlooked aspect of your pet’s overall health. Fractured and abscessed teeth are painful and our pets are professionals at hiding discomfort. Oral exams often guide us to recommend dental cleanings that require anesthesia. We can provide dental exams, full mouth x-rays, and teeth cleanings and, when needed, extractions for dogs and cats to help treat dental issues. Several of the veterinarians at Sycamore Vet have a special interest in dentistry.
We offer a full range of veterinary services to ensure that your pet is comfortable, healthy, and living their happiest life. We offer in-house laboratory services with our cutting edge laboratory equipment, digital radiology, laser therapy, acupuncture, as well as general surgery and dental procedures. For more advanced care, we work closely with area specialists including, but not limited to, internal medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, cardiology, and neurology.
Sycamore Vet uses a digital appointment booking system, which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. We have at least four doctors on schedule every day, and our goal is to be able to see our patients within 24 hours. We do plan for same day visits, but some days it may require you to leave your pet with us so we can triage, examine, and treat your pet that day.
