Dr. Amanda Focht

Dr. Focht (pronounced “folk”– she knows it’s a tough one!) grew up in the suburbs outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She then headed south where she graduated from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Science in Biology (and a minor in Latin) in 2018.

Dr. Focht travelled back north and earned her DVM from Tufts University in Massachusetts in 2022. Having had enough of the frigid New England winters, she returned to Richmond to start practicing with us here at Sycamore. Dr. Focht is passionate about general practice and forming long-term relationships with both patients and clients. When she’s not working, Dr. Focht enjoys Philadelphia sports (Go Birds!), playing ice hockey and weightlifting, reading, and cuddling with her sassy Siamese mix, Winnie.
