Dr. Christina Martin

She is a big football fan cheering on her Tennessee Volunteers and Titans teams. She particularly enjoys dermatology, surgery and dentistry. If she isn’t working she is busy with her husband, three children, rescue dog Murphy, and two cats, Penny and three legged Harvey.

After graduation from vet school in 1995, Dr. Murphy practiced in the Raleigh-Durham, N.C. area for almost two years before relocating to Richmond with her husband. She has been a team leader at Sycamore Veterinary Hospital since 1996 and loves all aspects of veterinary medicine — especially educating new puppy and kitten owners.  She spends her days off with her two sons, her ponies Toby and Cowgirl, and her Labrador Retriever Emmett.

Dr. Melanie Bolling

Dr. Bolling earned her DVM from Texas A&M in 2005. Following graduation, she practiced as a relief veterinarian in Richmond (which included some rounds at Sycamore Vet) while her husband completed his medical training at VCU. She then returned to Texas and joined the vet school faculty at Texas A&M, teaching primary care and general surgery for five years. She recently returned to Richmond, Virginia and is excited to return to the team at Sycamore Vet! Dr. Bolling has a special affinity for red tabby cats and enjoys watching Duke basketball and chasing her four children.

Following graduation from Tufts University and earning her DVM in 1992, Dr. Dermady completed a 13-month internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Oradell Animal Hospital, close to her hometown in northern New Jersey. She had been practicing in South Florida for 10 years before she and her husband Dave made the move to Richmond, where she enjoys the change of season, the history of the region, and most of all the people! She enjoys internal medicine, and enjoys going to continuing education classes to stay up to date on all the latest advances in veterinary medicine. Dr. Dermady and Dave share their home with Monkey, their Standard Poodle.

Dr. Sarah Nash

Dr. Nash graduated from the Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. After graduation, she and her husband moved to Williamsburg, VA where they lived for 3 years. After a short stent back in Ohio, they saw the light and decided to make Richmond home.
Her favorite aspects of veterinary medicine begin with trying to make each visit as stress-free as possible for both patient and their pet parents. She enjoys addressing growing/aging issues and internal medicine cases. When not helping her patients she loves spending time with her family (2 boys, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 1 husband), hiking, cooking and reading.
